How To Layer Pink Tones

I mean who doesn't want to go around life in sweat pants abd a pair of comfy sneakers while running errands, hanging with friends, to work, lunch, etc. As much as I want to live in sweats my obsession with fashion wont allow me to do that! So I thought I'd dress it up and make the whole sweat pants look more presentable. Some times sweats can look like you've just thrown them on after grabbing them out of the dirty hamper. I think styling more relaxed looks are frowned upon and really misunderstood by most but its really one of my favorite things about style (you're allowed to express yourself.)

This look is perfect for a more relaxed day on the go. Its laid back enough not to be bothered and stylish enough to stay prepared for any and everything --last minute calls from friends, nothing to eat in the fridge so "let's eat out.", or a random movie night.

How I Style The Vintage Tommy Hilfiger Jacket

I missed the bomber trend the first time around but I'm here for its return! Last month I picked up two bomber jackets and this beauty here. It has so much style and is outside of what everyone else is wearing. So I put it in my closet and waited until it was styled perfectly in my head --and here we are..

Back in the day (2004) I started wearing belts around my waste -thick belts, skinny, stretchy belts, belts, belts, belts! I wore them so much I grew bored of the look and retired it in 2006. Last week I gave "the belted waste" some thought and began creating an outfit to give it a go once again. This look was originally supposed to have a belt tied around my sweat shirt. After trying it on it looked better around my jacket which was a first for me but I absolutely loved it. Decided  to pair the look with royal blue and white smoking loafers, blue jeans, and a gray sweat shirt to break up all the blue that I have going on.

10 Must Have Coats For Fall

My love for coats stems from the 90's film 'Jumping Jack Flash'. The way Whoppi Goldberg styled her trench with layer after layer seemed so effortless. Not only was her outfit dope her coat was the accessory to pull it all together! Ever sense then I've been obsessing over long statement coats. They're so easy to style and goes with everything -dresses, jeans, trousers, to sweat pants. I remember hating wearing coats in A/W because it would cover up my outfit. Back then I would rather be cold with a fly wardrobe (I'm not the only one right?!) But with these ten coats we will no longer have to worry.

How To Style Adidas Hightop Pro Model

Decided to get out of the house yesterday and enjoy the weather (anything that's not 90 degrees is lovely here in Texas!) I was in the mood for pasta so we had dinner at B.J's while watching some college football and had a few drinks. With it being chilly this morning I wanted to layer a bit with two colors that would compliment my shoes -cream and hunter green. I wanted this look to have style and not look like I just threw on a pair of jeans with a nice pair of shoes. Speaking of shoes these are my first pair of Adidas and now I'm in love. A pair of sneakers that goes with everything --SOLD!

The Wonderful World of Bloglovin'

When I first started this blog I also signed up for Bloglovin' --scrolled it a few times then abandoned it. To the point where I forgot my password. I didn't (for some odd reason) know what it was for, or how I could benefit from it. Boy was I wrong. I now look at Bloglovin as my online news paper. Keeping me up to date with fashion, lifestyle and food! There's different tabs on different topics to read up on filled with great tips. You can read, save for later, and share posts from other bloggers. I am going to download the app so I can have easy access on the go on my handy dandy HTC.

What are some sites you've overlooked and are totally in love with now?!

Halloween Costume Ideas

Back in the day Halloween costumes were always cartoon character inspired.  Now you see people gravitating towards celebrity looks (favorite film, candid shots, to their favorite red carpet look). From the Queen Bee herself, Lil' Kim to Lady Gaga. With Halloween just around the corner thought I'd give you some ideas on fashionable Halloween costumes.

'Basic Instinct'

'The Get Down' (Netflix)

'Stranger Things' (Netflix)

'Low Down Dirty Shame'

The Goldberg's' (HULU)

Who are you going to be for Halloween?!

Orange Tones

Orange and brown -can you tell I'm in the mood for Fall? I've decorated my house with pumpkins, fall scented candles and put up Halloween lights outside. I'm not one to wear orange but out of nowhere I fell in love with burnt orange paired with tans and browns. One of my favorite things to do is look at the color wheel and see which colors work well together.

Smile Brilliant! #ad

The company Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their teeth whitening product and share my review with you all. I've tried teeth whitening strips and gels in the past but the results were disappointing --with Smile Brilliant I'm satisfied with the results.

You simply place your order through their online store (they offer packages for both normal and sensitive teeth), they'll send you the cutest package with everything you need inside. You'll be provided with teeth trays, paste (teeth molding), and syringes, and EASY step-by-step instructions walking you through the process of making your own impressions which is really fun!  After making your impressions you simply return them. You'll receive your hand crafted fitted trays within 3-7 business days after your impressions are received. Easy right?!

After receiving my custom fitted trays in the mail I was in a hurry to get started and that process was simple as well. All you'll need is your tooth brush, tooth paste, paper towel, syringe and your trays. Make sure you brush your teeth beforehand, after applying teeth whitening gel to your trays be sure to dry your teeth the best you can and insert trays. It's also very important to use the desensitizing gel afterwards to re-hydrate your teeth.

BEFORE AND AFTER

Ordering my trays were easy, molding my teeth and the teeth whitening process were a piece of cake. Also using this product helps me with brushing twice a day --before Smile Brilliant I often struggled with that lol! Overall this is a great product and I am happy with the results!

Teeth whitening trays are going for at least $500 at the dentist --head on over to Smile Brilliants Website to check out their LOW PRICES!

You Have As Many Hours In A Day As Donald Glover #TimeManagment

Here's a bit of advice on managing your time well from a blog that is still in the making. Being full-time worker or a full-time blogger or working full time while trying to get your blog off the ground time management is an essential. You're either trying to keep your blog poppin' or get it poppin' so making time for your blog as well as your job, social life, etc. is what I've found to be the key with this whole blogging thing. As I said before my blog is still in the making but I've noticed that finding balance with everything I have going on in my life has helped me to keep the content coming and most important helped me to not go crazy. When you're on break, having a coffee at your favorite coffee shop, or waiting for the microwave to beep after heating up your food from the night before. Jot down ideas for your next blog post/YouTube video. Another thing is look around, there's inspiration all around me. For instance my blog focuses on style (fashion) and lifestyle. So just looking around the house there's tons of inspiration, current  hair products I'm using, Fall T.V, etc. When it comes to fashion when I'm out and about there's inspiration. From being inspired by their style to trends I'm noticing. I've struggled in the past with drawing a blank on blog content, but one day it hit me, pay attention to your surroundings. With time management on the weekend I plan content, draft and take photos for my post for the entire week. That way I'm not trying to fit blogging into my "there's not enough time in the day" week -speaking of, I saw a post "you have as many hours in a day as Beyoncé." I'll apply that to my life but insert [DONALD GLOVER a.k.a CHILDISH GAMBINO].

REVIEW

  • Pay attention to surroundings
  • Plan ahead (find inspiration, draft content, take photos)
  • Jot down notes in phone while idle

What tips do you have on time management?

Hashtag Fall T.V

FALL - of course the weather is lovely (depending on where you live), fashion is slaying (I can't stand that word), and of course some good television.

Grab your PJ's, tea/hot coco, curl up in your favorite corner of the couch and lets talk Fall T.V! Making time for myself includes a bit of tele. During the summer months we have a few t.v shows that we're able to watch here and there, oh honey but nothing like Fall. My summer shows include 'Underground' (A MUST SEE), 'Stranger Things', 'Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Daredevil, American Ninja Warrior, Master Chef, etc. My favorite Fall shows are 'Black-ish', 'The Goldberg's', 'Superstore', 'The Real O'Neal's, 'Fresh of The Boat', to name a few. I usually watch HULU to catch up on my shows that I miss during the week due to my 9-5. I'm currently watching 'Luke Cage' on Netflix -so far so good.

What are some of your favorite Fall shows?!

Sweat Shirt 3 Ways | Look #1

One of my favorite colors of Fall is the not doing too much, laid back, gray. It's simple and easy to style. I love seeing people style one piece three ways so I'll be styling my gray sweat shirt three ways. Here's look number one...

I love styling biker shorts! They are super comfy and goes with anything. They can be styled alone or under a pair of denim shorts (make sure they're a tad bit longer than your shorts). I added this olive bomber jacket to pull the look together.

Coming Home To Cheer At The Table

My favorite genre of music is jazz and in todays day and age anything remotely close I appreciate. I grew up on Anita Baker, Tina Marie, Al Green, The Whispers, Brandy, Aaliyah, to name a few, later finding love in Jazz. Which is why I expect so much from artists and disappointed when I don't see an effort in their music (something I see often in todays industry). I love good old soulful music with good vibes and feel goods. Which brings me to the three albums I am currently in love with and as far as I've heard (with my own ears) the best albums thus far of 2016.

Leon Bridges - 'Coming Home'

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/coming-home-cd/8431076.p?skuId=8431076

Andra Day - 'Cheers To The Fall'

Solange - 'A Seat At The Table'

Leon is a young Sam Cooke. Andra Day is the rebirth of Amy Winehouse. Solange the daughter of Lauryn Hill and Jill Scott (if possible). All three albums are all well thought out, patiently crafted and worthy of a vinyl (if you know me there are certain songs that I'll listen to on a record player (Jazz/R&B) and certain artists in my opinion belong on vinyl.) Their music makes you feel when you've become numb, takes your soul on a ride, and inspires the poet in you when writers block invades the mind. If you're in the mood when 'coming home' for an upbeat day, a soulful afternoon at the table, or to find your emotions with cheers please take a listen to these three ARTists!

What do you think of these albums?
