Color Me Nude

Took a trip to the mall today so KoJo could pick up some black on black Pumas from 'Journey's'. An outing to the mall would require tons of walking so I grabbed my most comfy sneakers --the Nike Huarache of course. As I've said before I'm loving solid colored outfits at the moment, so I went with tan again. No pop of color this time just everyone's favorite color --black. Am I the only one who doesn't like carrying a purse to the mall?! I always feel like I'm carrying too much --camera, phone and a purse. NO MA'AM! So I through all my junk in my Coach backpack purse. My inspiration for today's look was simply comfort. I am trying to teach myself that its okay to be comfy --just learn how to style around it!

Inspiration Through Books

I've lost my touch --at least through my eyes. I still receive compliments but I still feel there's room for improvement. So I've turned to the books and runway shows online! I've taken notes on this Spring trends, referring back to them when I'm out shopping.

OLD MAGAZINES

Flipping through magazines finding inspiration to rip out and sit aside. This is also great for de cluttering your work space, bedroom or bookshelf! Once I find what I'm looking for I place my scraps in my planner. I'm not sure if I want to start an inspirational board but you may find that  useful.

BOOKS

Barnes and Noble is my favorite place to go for books on fashion! You can find just about any book on fashion at that place. I love to go there, find what I'm looking for, grab a cup of coffee and browse through my books to see what I can find. The 'Fashion For Dummies' book will guide you on how to put outfits together, know your body type and style, create fun looks and last but not least mastering color, pattern, and texture.

I hope this post was helpful. Be sure to pull inspiration from any and everywhere!

'BLACK'

For Christmas my mom bought me 'Nude' by Rihanna, which as I've said before is my absolute favorite day time fragrance. With it being my favorite I've been using it way too often so Kojo and I took a trip to Stein Mart!

Now I'll be honest I only wanted this fragrance because the packaging was black. It wasn't until after we left the store that I fell in love with the scent! 'Black' gives off scents of florals and citrus --very present but not too strong. I personally think this an evening perfume. So I'll be using my Rihanna 'Nude' during the day and Kenneth Cole 'Black' for a night out on the town. Problem solved!

What are your favorite fragrances?

Spring 2016 Runway Inspiration

I'm back watching fashion shows getting my inspiration and my life. Back in the day I used to watch fashion shows all the time while jotting down notes. One day I just stopped, why I don't know? Doing your research is a must --even when you're on top of your game! As much as I want to get my fashion together ASAP I'm going to wait until Spring. Yesterday I watched a few Spring 2016 collections --from Moschino, Versace, Givency, Public School, Jason Wu, Alexander Wang, and more over on Vogue.com! My favorite collection by far was Alexander Wang! I love how he kept it street! One reason I don't really like buying fashion magazines is because there's no balance between street wear and runway. So thank you Wang!

Just wanted to give you guys a quick update of what I'm up to. Ok, back to researching..

Crimson

For years now I've felt I've lost my touch in fashion. I could put an outfit together in a second! Now it takes forever, I write down ideas, etc., etc. --it just takes longer than I'd like it to. I become over it and want to just throw on some sweat pants and crew neck and call it a day, but I'm too obsessed with fashion to do that lol. At times I think maybe I can't think of anything because my style has evolved? Maybe I need to clean out my closet? Oh I don't know! I know I haven't lost my touch --my outfit today reminded me that I still have it!

The first time I wore this jacket was over a printed dress, which was a huge fail! But I bounced back with today's outfit of the day. I wanted to go for a very clean and detailed look. The jacket was my statement piece that also pulled this look together. My boots gave it a Gothic feel, while my oversized jacket served 90's fash! I'm proud of this outfit --as I said before sometimes I just can't get it right. I will find my style again trust! No half stepping this way!

Leopard X Denim

One way I love styling an all denim look is pairing it with a pop of print or color --in this case leopard.

I went with a pair of leopard print Loafers from Forever 21. I think sneakers would make this look a bit sloppy, where flats made it flow --it pulled the look together.

Also went with a large jacket and button down for a more relaxed look for a day off shopping.

YouTube UpDate

Hey guys! So a quick little update on my YouTube channel..

I wanted to update my channel every Sunday called 'Londen's Week' on my week (obviously lol). I quickly realized my life is not that interesting to post a video every week. So I came up with the idea of doing short films showing my outfit of the day (O.O.T.D) and quick shots of where I'm going that day. I want my videos too have a real feel of film --movie title, produced by, staring, credits etc. I always wanted my videos to be film like. I'll be researching more so my videos will grow. I'm not one to just post just to be giving my viewers content, so I'd rather switch it up a bit. Of course the videos will be shorter but that's better than a twenty minute video about nothing and going to the same places. Why not be creative ya know? My videos (short films) will be uploaded today. Hope you enjoy!

I just want to be great!

How To: Styling Nike Air Huarache

Hey guys so I've decided to style one of the most famous sneakers on Instagram --the Huarache. I couldn't scroll my timeline without seeing these on every other post in every color. I'm big on styling what's trending in a way that's opposite of what everyone else is doing. I've seen these shoes paired with jeans, shorts, but never a dress --or in my case a shirt. Go for what's not trending when styling something that currently is. Think outside of the Instagram box and you'll slay everytime.

I went with an oversized button down underneath an oversized yet fitted crew neck sweater for more of a preppy look.

How To: Styling The Boyfriend Jacket

My love for baggy clothing is at an all time high! Here are two different ways to style "The boyfriend jacket". The way I go about styling oversized clothing is pairing it with something more toned down --more fitted.

1ST Look: of course black is slimming so this look was a piece of cake! I decided to wear a large button down in black with jeggings, a long sleeved crew neck and a scarf.

2ND Look: I wanted to keep the neutral colors but pair it with mixed prints. Went with a shorter jacket underneath, stripped black and white button down, and harem pants.

Korey's Button Down: Burlington Coat Factory

Wine Please!

Throwing on all black before running out the door has been a habit for me lately. Every time I try to think of what to wear it always starts with black (don't know where that came from)? This is one of my favorite blazers -- I've been reaching for pieces that match the coat/jacket I'm wearing. Whether it be a button down, sweat shirt, and like today's look -a wine blazer paired with a wine jacket. This oversized jacket is the perfect piece to pull the outfit together. Decided to go with a plain long sleeve crew neck, jeggings, Huaraches, and a small day bag with gold hardware.
