Fall: Boots

I can't believe we're a day away from October, 2015 is really flying by! I'm super excited, I love October it's one of my favorite months --the pumpkins, beautiful leaves, scary movies, Halloween decorations and of course the fashion! Boots, flannel shirts worn the correct way (not tied around the waist --I think we've exhausted that look), an oversized sweater/sweat shirt, dark lips, black glasses *screams* I just love it! I've been seeing lots of people wearing black lips this Summer but me personally now is the time for a black lip..a perfect transition in to Fall. Speaking of boots here are my go to's for chilly weather....

My black wedged booties that I picked up from Target! Now I know people don't really post their Target finds but whatever Tar-shay (Target) slays lol! They were about 30 bucks I believe (can't remember because I can't remember anything these days). These babies with a pair of distressed black jeans and an over-sized gray sweater (jumper for my people in London ..am I the only one who loves when they say jumper), black glasses and a Starbucks cup with Tea! (hold the coffee..)

Oh I decided to take this picture lying on top of my old Elle & Vogue magazines --in with the old in with the new..seeing that trends just repeat themselves.

What do you love about Fall?!

Preparing for Fall

Are you ready for Fall? So am I! Well not the weather that we EVENTUALLY get here in Texas but none the less I'm excited. All this week it's supposed to be in the low 90's but I'm not complaining.

Yesterday I was scrolling through Twitter oh and I'm starting to love Twitter more than Instagram by the way. Any way as I was scrolling I saw '"The Walking Dead' season 5 now on @netflix." Instantly I jumped for joy..well not really I was sitting in the car at a baseball game in 90 degree weather so jumping was out of the question but I was so excited! I did a screen shot and sent the picture to Korey's phone and set it as his lock screen while he was playing and patiently waited for him to notice. He picked his phone up after his game and began to unlock his phone, stopped and stared and said "really?!" giving me a high five. We watched the first two episodes and will watch another one today. Okay let me just say binge watching is not a good idea especially when it comes to 'The Walking Dead' it seems like it takes forever for Netflix to release a new season!

Any how....

Here's a few of my Fall items some old some new..

Saturday Inspiration #8

A few days ago I read a post on XO Nicole - okay wait let me fill you in on XO Nicole just in case you somehow don't know. She had her own website called Nicole Bitchie that discussed trends, celebrities, etc. Her new site is XO Nicole. Where do I begin?! It's inspirational, informational, lifestyle, beauty, celebrity news (in a positive way), and so much more. It is my morning news paper. If I'm feeling down and just completely uninspired or when I'm simply in need of a good read I go to her website and get my fix for the day!

Now as I was saying a few days ago I read an article about the hype of instagram. How just about everyone posts pictures of nice cars, purses, heels, hell some even post a picture of them talking to "the money phone"... come on y'all seen the money phone before! At times seeing these things we may tend to get a little down, second guess ourselves trying to figure out what we're doing wrong? Why don't we have all these things people post on their page?

I'm going to be completely honest and say I've been one of those people but quickly realized that I'm not doing anything wrong this is my life and it's going according to God's perfect timing. What's for me is for me and what's for them is for them. At the moment I may be eating the 5 for $5 from Taco Bueno and she may be at a 5 star restaurant in L.A. again what's for me at the moment is for me. We have to remain firm in our faith no matter what's going on around us. We must stay consistent with our goals working on them everyday and not be distracted by an Instagram photo. Scroll through your feed and when you see a post of someone standing outside their beautiful new home double tap that picture and keep it pushing. Never be a hater always be happy with them whether you know them or not.

Be grateful for what you have WORK for what you want!

Something New

As every girl in the world there's tons of things I need to be Fall ready so I made a wish list that will also help you all get inspired. This new addition of inspiration is located in the menu under 'Shop'. I've decided to update this new feature every two weeks with different stores starting with Forever 21.

Just scroll threw and when you find something you like click the picture and it will take you directly to the website for you to purchase! It's just that simple!

I started off with black and a few burgundy and green shades. My next post will have lots more Fall colors from bags, hats, trench coats to lipstick. There will be trendy pieces also things I'd love to see this Fall. I want my blog to be more convenient -- personal fashion & lifestyle posts of course, helpful tips, make-up, poetry, and easy access to online shopping all in one.

Now head on over and start shopping!

'Dirty Talk'

I am hot, irritated and I don't feel well! On top of that my stupid phone is sending messages twice like the person I'm texting is saying "huh?" I am just super annoyed by everything at the moment but blogging must go on!

I spent most of my day at my mom's apartment at the pool with the family. I met my cousin, she's 24 and so cute! The weather was perfect at first.. a strong breeze, cloudy skies and a mist of rain. Of course living in Texas the beautiful weather never lasts! It suddenly stopped raining and got extremely muggy -ugh! Here muggy means "haha you just took time to curl your hair for no reason at all!" The wind came and went just to show you that it doesn't care about how sticky, nasty and uncomfortable you feel. It was fun but definitely shortened our time outside. Then I got home and the air wasn't on, 84 degrees inside my house *pulls hair out*! Overall it was a good day just filled with a lot of annoying moments.

Anyway it's Saturday night let's talk dirty! Last week my mom and I took a trip to Ulta to pick up a few things -foundation, concealer, eyebrow pencil and lipstick by NYX 'Dirty Talk'. It's a creamy shade of brown with a slight gloss (glad it's slight I can't stand shiny lipstick).

What color will you be wearing this Fall?

Fall Into Grey

Back to work today and as down as I thought I was going to be suddenly I felt the urge to network...to do what I can to take the next step towards my future. I often think of people who say they're about to give up on their dreams and instantly think of myself and have I tried hard enough? Have I done all I can do? Have I exhausted my resources? The answer to those questions are no I have not. I have not busted my butt to get to where I want to be....I've done a little here and there but that's not enough in my book! Work your butt off for what you want!! There's a certain lifestyle that I want to live and I have to do what I can and then some to get there. It's so easy to get comfortable where you are and I'm not trying to do that. I know God did not bless me with these gifts to sit around and not try ya know? Ok enough of that lol...
My moms birthday was yesterday, I took her out to 'Joe's Crab Shack' she ordered Fish & Chips I had their Shrimp Pasta  Alfredo that I wouldn't have ordered because not everyone can cook Alfredo! I (for whatever reason) thought it said CRAB Alfredo (don't ask) and they brought me shrimp...I was over it. It was not good at all but their crab nachos were delicious. My mom enjoyed it and that's all that matters! I wanted to celebrate her birthday from September 1st - 14th so that's what we did and man we had a blast! From Dallas to Cold Stone Creamery to shopping, etc. etc.! One day we'll be able to do more than that when these dreams of mine come true (hold on mama!)
Here's my O.O.T.D from yesterday, a real chill look.... strap back, crop top, sweat shirt turned skirt with some comfy sneakers and my favorite go to back pack purse. These are Payless shoes I'm wearing by the way! I went in Payless with my mom and these babies caught my eye so I bought them. I'm big on dressing up what OTHERS WOULDN'T WEAR because they're not in and splashed all over Instagram! Mixing the more expensive with the "buy one get one" CAN be done....I really don't get why more people don't do it. *shrugs*
STEP OUTSIDE OF THE BOX A.K.A WHAT'S POSTED ON INSTAGRAM

Fall is around the corner so thought I'd go grey on grey with a chocolate lip. I want my next color to be burgundy I LOOOOVE burgundy head to toe!

Are you as excited about Fall Fashion as I am?! What's your favorite trend you've seen on the runway or street fashion?

Nude: Rimmel London

Currently curled up in the corner of my couch watching 'The Black List' on Netflix. I'm curious to find out more about this "list". Now there just has to be more! You can't just make the show about a list without there being something to it!

Any way today is my mom's birthday, I'm taking her out for seafood at Joe's Crab Shack. We've never been before but I took a look at the menu yesterday and lets just say I'm excited! Crab pasta, crab nachos, cocktails, oysters, etc. Going for a chill O.O.T.D real laid back. I'm back to work tomorrow after enjoying a much needed vacation so I want today to be as chill as possible. I was a little over going back to work but I'm trying to make something happen in my life that's somewhat of a huge step for me living on my own. When you want to live a certain lifestyle you have to work hard. Don't get too comfortable where you are, if there's something that's in need of change pray first and go from there..

Now let's talk Fall. It comes a little late living in Texas (I'm not complaining though) I love nudes and different tones of brown, grey's and deep burgundy. Lately I've been loving this nude polish from Rimmel London in 'Caramel Cupcake' perfect for the drop in temperature and goes well with ever outfit. I love the clean look you get with nude polishes.

What shades will you be rocking this Fall?! Stepping out of the box or sticking to the nudes and of course black?

Currently: NYX Micro Brow Pencil

So I still consider myself in the learning stages of mastering the perfect brow. At times I make the left like a pro and the right like three year old. I've also struggled finding the right brow powder or pencil. I started off with the brow pencil by Maybelline which was simply a disgrace, moving on to N.Y.C powder kit um no. After failing two times I decided to move on to another brand, Malani brow kit from CVS that I liked at first but now it's one of the worst ones I've tried. There was nothing to make the powder stick. I found myself carrying vaseline and lip balm (yes lip balm) with me and that drove me inane!

Saturday my mom and I took a much needed trip to Ulta she picked up concealer and foundation and I purchased this beauty.....

NYX brow pencil in 'Espresso'! This is by far my favorite....finally, thank you NYX! I needed an alternative to the Anastasia Brow Wiz and it's just that! It's very precise not flakey (for lack of a better word) like a powder brow kit. It's a retractable pencil with a brush on the opposite end, it's perfect for on the go and just overall a great product.

It was $7.99 and honestly I should've bought two of them but with all the bad luck I've had with brow kits buying one at a time was smart! I have absolutely no complaints besides not buying more!

What's your go-to for taming those brows?!

Laughter The Best Medicine

They say laughter is the best medicine in my case especially when laughing at self. So I moved to Texas in 2012 and did some site seeing and drove past this store that had a rather interesting name so I decided to take a peek inside. They sold everything from shoes to jewelry, suitcases, to purses, etc. I noticed some knock off purses here and there and some really nice backpack purses that weren't knock offs and more. Ok, now just because I saw a few knock offs I didn't know most of them weren't real! Now this black purse pictured below (take a minute to take it in)....

This purse caught my eye so home with me it with. Now I'm just loving this purse, I finally found a really nice day bag that can hold all my junk and goes with every outfit. Later, and I mean later we're talking about months later (because I didn't carry it often) I realized it's a knock off!!

(Screams!!!!!!)

Now if you like fake purses by all means do you but me, no! I think it's disrespectful to the designer... I don't know it's just not for me. Have you seen "You fake like this Berkin" written on bags? Yeah that quote should be written all over this purse!

I am able to laugh at this mistake I made even though being in to fashion I should've spotted this from a mile away. Lol! But life isn't that serious and I won't be getting rid of this bag I honestly like it and sleep won't be lost on the opinions of others concerning my fake bag lol! I must acknowledge the fact that I know it's not real...so I plan on writing on it or something.

Be able to laugh at yourself!

Thought i'd share the story behind this bag hope you got a giggle or two out it I know I did!

What fashion mishaps have you made?
